Zaha Hadid fireplaces

Zaha Hadid was one of the most influential architects and designer of the this century creating a wide variety of building, homes, objects as well as pieces for living and for the home, from architecturally inspired homeware, and limited edition furniture, innovative installations and interiors, to fireplaces. By exploring the latest in technological and material innovations, combined with bespoke craftsmanship, Zaha Hadid pushed the boundaries of traditional design methodologies.

Zaha Hadid designed central and wall fireplaces in marble and in metal. The Calla for example was an interpretation of a classic wall fireplace with a design originated from the apparent torsional forces between its interior and exterior surfaces, crafted entirely  of Negro Marquina black marble.

Another of Zaha Hadid’s design are fireplaces in the Capital Hill Residence in Noscow, Russia. Located on the north face hillside in Barvikha where pine and birch trees grow up to 20 meters high, a villa with fluid geometries emerges from the landscape overlooking the forest. Three metal fireplaces were designed for this project mostly in metal.
